Early Morning and Sakura Steamed Milk

Morning view from the apartment

Got up with the sun this morning, which, was not that difficult given that my body thought it was about 1pm. I finished up some work for my employer and then headed out to find two essentials: a prepaid cell phone, and a shop that develops medium-format film.

Both of these were found in Roppongi. From the looks of it, I’ll probably be back here to develop my film and that’s about it. High end shopping and residential area, devoid of pretty much anything interesting. I don’t know though, is Gucci interesting?

I did though, happen upon a mobile Starbucks truck, which was launching a new drink.

The courtyard at Roppongi Hills — which was completely empty when I sat down to eat a few odd baked goods I had picked up  — suddenly filled with about 150 people within 10 minutes. Wow, these people love free stuff even more than I do!

By the time I left, the courtyard was nearly empty again as they had ran out of free drinks.

Beginning of the Starbucks "Sakura" Drink Release Event

They posted a sign with the next free tasting, at 13:45.

The drink was darned good, but I’d seen enough so I caught a train out to Asakusa. I head there was a plum festival going on this weekend!
